Nephrology
Nephrology involves the treatment and care of the two main filters in our body – the Kidneys. Main function of the Kidney is to eliminate toxic chemicals from the blood, thus keeping the body clean and healthy. Kidney damage or failure can occur due to a number of reasons that may include infections, overuse of drugs or alcohol, acute or chronic autoimmune conditions, kidney trauma. Extreme tiredness, sleeplessness, dry/itchy skin, blood in the urine, puffy eyes are some symptoms that may indicate kidney damage. BFH has the facilities for treatment of a wide range of kidney diseases including glomerulonephritis, polycystic kidney disease and hard-to-treat hypertension.

With a team of highly qualified and experienced Doctors the department is ably supported by a committed team of nurses, medical workers/technicians and renal nutritionist.
The Nephrology department has a 7-bed Dialysis unit with Dialysis bed for ICCU patients. The patients undergoing Haemodialysis are continuously monitored by modern electronic devices to provide accurate and comfortable treatment with a reduced risk of complications. The dialysis therapists work closely with the nephrologists, the trained staff nurses, and other staff to provide all round comprehensive care.
